What are considered innovation support organizations?

The Knowledge Foundation uses the term “innovation support activities” to describe support structures whose main task is to promote innovation and business development, primarily in small and newly established companies.

Innovation support organizations that are owned by or receive most of their funding from a higher education institution or through public grants cannot co-finance projects.

Examples of such organizations include incubators, science parks, and innovation offices. Innovation support organizations that are entirely funded by non-public sources (e.g., incubators, accelerators, innovation hubs) are eligible to co-finance Knowledge Foundation projects.
