Swedish Foundations’ Starting Grant

Important dates

  • Opening date: 14 October 2024
  • Closing date: 12 November 2024, at 7:00 CET

Swedish Foundations’ Starting Grant is a unique collaboration between seven private funders who believe in supporting prominent early-career researchers.

About the grant

The call is open for researchers affiliated with host institutions in Sweden, who have received the highest rating (A) on their ERC Starting Grant application, but were not awarded funding due to the ERC’s limited budget. To be eligible, you must also not have been placed on the ERC’s reserve list, which is funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Purpose

By providing an additional opportunity for funding of top scoring ERC applications we hope to motivate more researchers to apply for an ERC Starting Grant. More ERC funding for research in Sweden is beneficial both for individual researchers and the country.

Collaboration between seven funders

The Knowledge Foundation participates in this call in collaboration with Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse, Erling-Persson Foundation, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, Olle Engkvists Stiftelse, Kempestiftelserna and Svenska Sällskapet för Medicinsk Forskning.
