The Knowledge Foundation was established in 1994 with an initial capital of SEK 3.6 billion. Through effective management, our capital has grown to approximately SEK 10 billion, while SEK 12 billion has been disbursed in project funding.
Capital Management
The management of the capital are handled by the Knowledge Foundation’s capital committee. The committee’s main function is to make decisions on tactical issues and investment choices, as well as to advise the board on matters related to capital management. It comprises six members, three of whom are required to be members of the foundation’s board, while the other three are external members with specific expertise in capital management.
The capital committee must adhere to the investment guidelines established by the board. Ethical and environmental considerations are integrated into capital management, and regular reviews are conducted to ensure a long-term sustainable approach.
