Experience industry programme
In 2000, the Knowledge Foundation decided to invest in the experience industry over a five-year period. The aim was to strengthen growth in primarily smaller-sized creative businesses. The investment led to the establishment of eight cross-boundary arenas, one experience industry network and ERIBA - a model for creating growth.
ICT in teacher training
Within the Knowledge Foundation’s long-term programme on ICT in teacher training, the authorities responsible for Sweden’s teacher training courses have decided to form a network to develop the digital competence of student teachers. The initiative ICT in teacher training is being implemented in cooperation with teacher-training providers, municipalities and the business sector, which are funding it on the same scale as the Foundation. Research and postgraduate programmes
The Knowledge Foundation is working to enhance Swedish research and increase contacts between the academic and business communities. We help to develop research in Sweden’s new universities and university colleges, based on the needs of Swedish trade and industry, that is competitive internationally. Visualisation programme
Sweden is today a world leader in visualisation technology. Four large Swedish research funders have joined forces in the Visualisation research programme in order to stimulate and develop visualisation and imaging in schools, the business community, higher education and the public sector.

Competence development in industry
The Knowledge Foundation is working to increase competence in Swedish industry based on company needs. Our goal is to have the business and academic communities work together so that Swedish companies have access to the knowledge that is available at the country’s institutes of higher learning. Societal entrepreneurship is an initiative aimed at improving that which is missing or not working in the social structure: new solutions that create a sustainable society – economically, socially and ecologically. Read more about the programme.
IT in health care
The Knowledge Foundation is working to raise the quality of health care and make it more efficient with the help of IT. Industrial research institutes
Industrial research institutes in Sweden are to serve as a bridge between the academic and business communities and are focussed on supporting the development of Swedish companies. The institutes are working to ensure that companies can apply research results and that different experiences and approaches to problems are used in research.
