Our mission
To develop Sweden’s ability to create value, the Knowledge Foundation aims to aid the business community, higher education institutes and research institutions in developing leading knowledge and competence environments in priority areas. Since the start in 1994, the Foundation has invested more than SEK 6 billion in more than 2000 projects in competence development in the business sector and learning and IT, as well as in developing new higher education institutes and other institutions.
Our strategy: co-production
The Foundation’s objective is to promote cooperation between the business community, higher education institutes and research institutions, working with other stakeholders in society, in jointly identifying needs, opportunities and problems, and jointly producing results for mutual benefit and learning. We call this co-production. Stefan Östholm, General Manager of the Knowledge Foundation about co-production.
Our vision
is that several new higher education institutes (HEIs) should develop world-class knowledge and competence environments with distinctive profiles -
KK-miljöer. These internationally competitive leading-edge environments are to be an integral part of the higher education and research system and are to contribute substantially to growth in the business sector and development of society.
